| Description |
High school annex featuring five science labs, administrative offices, an 1,100-seat gymnasium, an eight-lane swimming pool with bleacher seating for 300, and a 50-seat chapel. |
Special Characteristics and Challenges |
This building utilized the Butler Building as the overall structure. The structure was designed to utilize 5 separate buildings coordinated into one large structure. The basement and second floor were constructed using conventional load bearing CMU and structural steel with the second floor composed of bar joist, metal deck and concrete. Energy management and humidity control features were implemented in the advanced mechanical systems for the gym and pool. |
