Stanker & Galetto Awarded Construction Contract
for Landis MarketPlace

VINELAND, NJ (August 2010) –  Stanker & Galetto, a leading general contracting firm in southern New Jersey, began construction of Landis MarketPlace, which is projected to open in early 2011. Stanker & Galetto was selected as the construction contractor by officials from the City of Vineland and Landis MarketPlace over six competing firms.

"We're excited about being part of this project," said Peter Galetto, President of Stanker & Galetto. "We think it will create a destination for people to visit and patronize businesses throughout the area. Really, the whole project is unique because we're bringing an existing facility back to life."

Local officials and merchants are confident that Landis MarketPlace will join the recently reopened Landis Theater to make the downtown business district a true dining, shopping and entertainment destination. The market is being constructed at the site of the former Newberry's department store on the 600 block of East Landis Avenue.

The indoor market will encompass two floors of the old department store with entrances from East Landis Avenue and the rear parking lot along Elmer Street. The bottom level has been leased to Amish Market, LLC, which will sell meats, pastries, cheeses, soups and salads, soft pretzels, ice cream, bulk foods, including homemade candies and jellies, and produce in kiosks spread out across the 18,000-square-foot space.
